We are pleased to welcome an international faculty of experienced foot and ankle specialists who will share their expertise, practical experience, and the latest developments in the field.

Beat Hintermann (Switzerland)

Prof. Beat Hintermann is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery. He is Associate Professor at the University of Basel and Consultant at the Centre of Excellence for Foot and Ankle Surgery, Kantonsspital Baselland, Switzerland. He is internationally recognised for his work in ankle reconstruction, deformity correction and total ankle replacement, and has authored numerous scientific publications and several reference textbooks in foot and ankle surgery

Roxa Ruiz (Switzerland)

Dr Roxa Ruiz is Medical Director of the Centre of Excellence for Foot and Ankle Surgery at Kantonsspital Baselland, Switzerland. She specialises exclusively in foot and ankle surgery, with particular expertise in ankle reconstruction, deformity correction and total ankle replacement. Dr Ruiz is actively involved in clinical research and international education and has co-authored numerous scientific publications and textbooks together with Prof. Beat Hintermann.

Aleksas Makulavicius (Lithuania)

Dr Aleksas Makulavičius is an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon from Lithuania specialising in foot and ankle surgery. His clinical and research interests include Achilles tendon injuries, ankle arthroplasty and reconstructive foot surgery. He has authored numerous scientific publications and is actively engaged in international research, education and collaboration within the European foot and ankle community.

Dmitri Kulak (Estonia)

Dr Dmitri Kulak is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery at East Tallinn Central Hospital, Estonia. His clinical practice focuses on foot and ankle trauma, reconstructive procedures, deformity correction and ankle replacement surgery. He is an active member of the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS), regularly lectures at international meetings and serves as one of the organisers of the Baltic Foot and Ankle Conference.

Maris Leitlands (Latvia)

Dr Māris Leitlands is a Latvian orthopaedic and trauma surgeon with a particular interest in foot and ankle surgery. He is actively involved in the development of this subspecialty in Latvia and regularly participates in international educational activities and professional collaboration within the Baltic region. He is one of the organisers of the Baltic Foot and Ankle Conference.

Juris Bruklis (Latvia)

Dr Juris Brūklis is a trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery and sports traumatology. Following extensive clinical experience in Germany, he has continued to develop foot and ankle surgery in Latvia. He regularly participates in international courses and congresses and is actively involved in professional education for orthopaedic surgeons.
